Springfield Community Campus

Corsham

The Springfield Community Campus is a major extension to the Springfield Leisure Centre to provide a local library, community hall, police station, youth services, meeting rooms, café, administrative areas and a Youth and Learning Disability Centre as well as refurbishing the existing leisure centre. Liaison with community operations boards was a key feature. The project is part of Wiltshire Council’s on going Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) for both operational energy and embodied carbon. The new build was mainly cross laminated timber which can be fabricated off site, facilitates a rapid assembly, improves air tightness as well as providing sequestration of embodied carbon. The campus remained operational throughout.
