A mixture of a new build steel frame extension and refurbishment of the existing Victorian school. This project had an incredibly short programme with just eleven months from appointment to completion on site. A very high level of coordination and collaboration across the design team was needed for quick decisions, with a number of solutions being offered and consensus being needed in a couple of days rather than weeks. This was facilitated by the proactive and understanding approach of the contractor who was very aware of the time pressures and the importance of making rapid decisions.
