John Ferneley College
Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire
The school’s educational strategy was an important factor in designing themed learning zones; independent yet interlinked by a street running down the centre of the school. Our holistic understanding of the design and construction process allowed us to input on discussions ranging far wider than structural engineering alone. A steel frame supporting precast planks was chosen, providing the benefits of fast erection with the provision of thermal mass to help stabilise internal temperatures. Levels were set to minimise earthworks and excess material excavated was used to create sports pitches following demolition of the old school.
“The Integral staff engaged on this project continually display a professional approach and provide an efficient service. I have no hesitation in recommending them.”
