Our remit was the design of an extension to an existing facility to accommodate new equipment. The original structure was designed with future expansion in mind but the equipment to be housed was far heavier than had been allowed for in the original design. Integral brought this to the client’s attention and provided engineering solutions. We created a series of computer models of the existing structure to review the proposed interventions. The works were designed to be installed and carried out whilst the existing critical production line facility remained live. Due to planning the height of the extension could not be increased beyond the adjacent building. We worked with the specialist plant suppliers to digitally co-ordinate the new structure with the equipment to fit in the tight space available.
