Yeovil Crematorium

A redevelopment of the existing crematorium which had a single chapel space. The project was to add a new chapel, facilitating multiple services and to allow the flow of the different users. The result was a dynamic and unique space, playing with light throughout the day to provide a different experience every day of the year. The design of this new higher capacity chapel was cross laminated timber and glulam with a folded roof plate. The folded roof scape is repeated in the new entrance porte-cochere. The existing building is to be refurbished and the chapel brought up to modern day standards and office space increased and upgraded. We also undertook the Sustainable Drainage System design which required early liaison with Wessex Water. Using BIM aided coordination with the design team.
