Emmanuel Community Primary School
Emmanuel Community School is a new primary school built as part of the wider Beam Park redevelopment project in Havering, southeast London. The Department of Education (DfE) and Havering Council set out their requirements for a new build two form entry primary school to serve the newly established Beam Park community with a focus on special educational needs (SEN) capability. The schools is steel frame with structural columns typically in each corner of the classrooms with internal partition walls so that the spaces can be adapted providing future flexibility. The upper floors and roof will be formed from precast concrete planks with an insitu concrete topping. The planks are exposed on the underside in certain spaces to maximise headroom and provide exposed thermal mass.
