Bloomsbury Theatre, University College London (UCL)
London
A complex refurbishment of the UCL Bloomsbury Theatre. The concrete framed building was constructed in 1968 and the theatre is used for both student and professional productions. In addition to the theatre, the building contains a range of different functions including the UCLU Fitness Centre. A high degree of co-ordination was required to design new plant and service routes and steel strengthening requirements. One of the primary aims of the project was to have the refurbishment completed in time for the Theatre’s 50th anniversary in 2018.
“An ideal structural engineer looks like Integral Engineering Design – proactive, dynamic engineers who work well with the team and us as the client.”
